Meet Konkle! Konkle is the Samaritan Center's Client Story and Volunteer of the Month for February! 😁
Konkle is a previous client of the Samaritan Center who currently volunteers weekly. Konkle was homeless for over 20 years and first came to the Samaritan Center around 2005. Konkle's first impression of the Samaritan Center was finding comfort that he was able to shower and receive hot meals everyday.
Case workers at the Samaritan Center were able to connect Konkle with Behavorial Health to receive a section 8 voucher. The Samaritan Center also assisted Konkle with financial and disability resources. In 2019 Konkle was able to get his own place and he currently lives with and takes care of his 6 year old daughter! He enjoys taking her to the park and spending quality time with her.
Konkle volunteers at the Samaritan Center four days a week and helps with picking up grocery deliveries and unloading items when it arrives at the Samaritan Center. As a volunteer he says he is happy to give back to a place that helped him for so many years.
