Reviving the Samaritan Center’s garden required a vision, dedication, and skill: traits that our volunteer gardener Bob possessed! The Center has four garden boxes, but six months ago, there were no plants; the garden needed some attention and consistent care. Bob had experience with gardening and planted tomatoes, corn, green beans, and zucchini. Even herbs and chives for the Samaritan Center’s breakfast were planted! This summer, the harvest has been abundant.
The garden directly benefits the Center! Buckets of tomatoes and veggies are featured in breakfast meals, cooked here at the Center. Other produce go into boxes at our food pantry. Bob’s vision has blessed the Center with delicious produce!
