Backpack Medicine is a bi-monthly outreach program that consists of visiting various encampments in Simi Valley. Two staff members from the Samaritan Center accompany other organizations such as Ventura County Medical Reserve Corps, Salvation Army, Simi Valley Behavioral Health Department, and more.
Our medical friends from these organizations are able to give onsite health assistance to clients. Our staff prepacked hygiene kits and also spread the word about what services and resources the Samaritan Center can offer to those experiencing homelessness.
