Meet, Miriam! Our Newest Caseworker

We are proud to spotlight Miriam, our Senior Lead Caseworker, whose personal journey and professional experience have shaped her passion for helping others.
Miriam immigrated to the United States at 13 years old after her family was forced to move between multiple countries due to war. She eventually made her way to California and went on to earn her degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge. English is her fourth language, and her own experiences have given her a unique understanding of resilience and helping others through difficult circumstances.
Miriam's passion for this work is deeply personal. Throughout Miriam's career, she has built an extensive background in case management and supporting individuals who have experienced significant trauma, housing instability, and homelessness. She spent six years as a psychiatric caseworker at a state mental health institute in Nevada and later spent two years working with Holocaust survivors in Irvine.
Miriam joined the Samaritan Center in March 2026 and says her motivation is simple: she wants to help people live better lives and reach their full potential. She loves working with our clients and is grateful to be part of a team that shares her passion for helping others.
Outside of work, Miriam is a devoted mom to her 16 year old daughter. She also coaches a hockey team for kids ages 11 to 15, enjoys spending time with her two cats, and has a passion for wildlife rescue. Her most recent rescue was a squirrel!
We are grateful to have Miriam as part of the Samaritan Center team and appreciate the compassion, experience, and dedication she brings to our clients every day.
