The purpose of the Point-in-Time (PIT Count) is to obtain a snapshot census of people experiencing homelessness in the Ventura County area in a designated 24-hour period.

About the event
The morning of the count on Wednesday, January 24th starting at sunrise, volunteers will canvass the community and conduct surveys of people experiencing homelessness.
During registration, you will be able to indicate what geographic areas you would prefer to complete the count in. Registration will also ask other questions that will allow organizers to match you with other volunteers. We strongly encourage folks to sign up in groups as a team if you prefer who you will be working with and to ensure you are working with someone you know if that is important to you.
All registered volunteers will need to attend a live training. The training includes information on how to engage vulnerable populations, basic information about the campaign, and how to complete surveys via a mobile app. Much more information, FAQs, training resources, etc., will be provided at these sessions.
